Update: The recording for this session is now available to Supporting and Sustaining Members: Access the full recording and transcript. Please join us for an in-depth introduction to Inclusive Leadership with Dr. Elizabeth Dickinson on May 24th. We need to rewrite the book on how we teach, think about, and do Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) within organizations. Due to the limitations of some traditional/customary DEI techniques, and because of our changing times, organizations need leaders with an advanced understanding of how to create spaces that promote connection and belonging. In this MAP & Tell Conference session, Dr. Elizabeth Dickinson will describe how to go beyond standard DEI techniques and offer a more nuanced and holistic educational analysis of culture. The emerging innovative approach of Inclusive Leadership teaches leaders a personal strategy to use within organizations to create change. Elizabeth will cover: ➡ What works and doesn't in traditional DEI initiatives and efforts ➡ Why people are burnt out, demotivated, and resistant to DEI ➡ How Inclusive Leadership helps you pause, see what's broken, and inspire through a different approach ➡ How to look differently at people, groups, and culture ➡ How to widen the scope to include various groups and engage everyone in DEI ➡ Your questions and comments How to participate in this sessionThis is a free and public event. If you sign up for a free membership, you can RSVP and get a reminder email one hour before the session begins. You don't have to be a member to tune in, though. Just come back here and join the session on the scheduled day/time. To prepare for this session, please read "The Failure of the DEI-Industrial Complex" by Lily Zheng. Note: Elizabeth will also lead a more in-depth workshop on this topic for the MAP Community in September, 2023. If you're interested in that workshop, consider attending this free session. We will give away a complimentary workshop ticket to one session attendee.
