MAP Office Hours: Reflective Evaluation With Bridget Devlin

The most impactful exhibitions are rarely born out of conference room conversations alone. They require stopping and speaking with the people you are actually trying to create these experiences for. This means testing, prototyping, evaluating, and iterating on your exhibition ideas at every phase of the project, and then taking the time as a team to reflect on what the findings mean to the project moving forward. In this Office Hours meetup, Bridget Devlin will share examples of how she has applied this reflective and iterative practice to her exhibition planning work, and help you brainstorm ways you and your team can too! About Bridget@Bridget Devlin is a museum consultant specializing in evaluation and interpretive planning. Bridget has developed exhibitions and educational products for leading design firms and cultural organizations, from the Smithsonian Institution to the Peabody Essex Museum, for over 15 years. She loves collaborating with creative teams AND the people they are designing for. By embedding evaluative and reflective thinking into every phase of design, she help teams create memorable and meaningful visitor experiences. Bridget received her B.A. in Anthropology from McGill University and her M.A. in Museum Studies from the George Washington University.  About MAP Office HoursHosted by Rosie Siemer and Kyle Bowen, MAP Office Hours offer community members time to talk through a particular challenge or idea they're trying to address in their museum.
