History Colorado designs a free membership for fourth-grade students to boost family participation.In Colorado, 4th graders study the history and regions of the state and how the people who have lived in Colorado interacted. History Colorado saw this as a perfect opportunity to connect with 4th graders to invite them into the museum with their very own membership! Designed to introduce youth (and their families) to all that History Colorado offers, the “History Buffs”  membership provides an accessible and welcoming offering for families to participate. With benefits like free admission, discounts on programs, and monthly e-blasts, the History Buffs membership program is helping to generate early connections with youth and their families. Her family is from the small town of Garcia in the San Luis Valley, but she was raised in Lakewood. She has a BA in History with a minor in Anthropology and Mandarin from Colorado State University. She received her MA in History, focusing on museums, at the University of Colorado, Denver in 2018. Her thesis discussed how museums are evolving to be more inclusive and tell more stories of people of color, specifically Hispanics. She is currently the Membership Manager at the History Colorado Center.
