Join us for a discussion of Focus Groups in museums. @Erin Wilcox will be with us to share how she's been using focus groups at The Detroit Institute of Arts Museum. We'll talk about when it makes sense to use focus groups and when it's better to use other approaches like one-to-one interviews or listening sessions. This event is free for Supporting and Museum Members. Not yet a member? Learn more and join the group. About MaP Research Office HoursROH is hosted by Rosie Siemer and Kyle Bowen. Each session introduces a research methodology or learning framework and special guests join from time to time to share their experiences with those practices. During the last half of the session, we invite participants to bring their questions or data they've collected — hosts and participants ask clarifying questions to help each other make progress toward their goal. For example, we discuss questions things like: • How can I improve these survey questions? • What tools can I use and how do I choose the right one? • How can I be sure I'm learning from the right people? • How can I share what I learn with others in my organization so that it makes a difference? Sessions are recorded, edited to remove any sensitive information, and then shared with Supporting and Museum Members in the Recordings Library.
