Progress Through Play: Cedar Rapids Meet-Up [MaP x IMA]

Much of our work happens through screens. And while virtual connection is powerful, there's something special about being in the same physical space, especially when that space involves solving puzzles to escape the Titanic. I'm excited to welcome MaP and Iowa Museum Association (IMA) members for an evening that puts a playful spin on professional connection. We're opening our "Unsinkable: The RMS Titanic Escape Room" exclusively for this gathering, offering you a chance to tackle puzzles while meeting colleagues who understand your day-to-day museum reality. The Plan• Start with refreshments and conversation • Take on the "Unsinkable: RMS Titanic Escape Room" challenge in small teams • Compare notes on what's working (and what isn't) at your institution • Identify shared challenges that could benefit from collaborative approaches • Build connections that last beyond the conference About the Escape RoomThe History Center's Titanic-themed escape room puts your problem-solving skills to work in a historically rich setting. You'll work in small groups, which means plenty of chances to see how other museum professionals approach challenges. (Sometimes the best insights come when we're not trying so hard to be strategic.)
